Yvette Costa-Garnier, RecitalistYvette Costa-Garnier was born in Havana, Cuba, of Cuban parents. She left Cuba when she was four years old and spent her early childhood years in Haiti. She returned to Cuba for one year before moving to Montreal, Canada. She now resides in Orlando, Florida. Miss Costa-Garnier holds a Laureat Degree from l’Ecole Normale de Musique de Montreal, and from Loyola/Concordia University, a B.A. in modern Languages: Italian,Spanish and French. She also studied at the Universite de Montreal. Miss Costa-Garnier has received accolades as an international recitalist, with performances in the United States and Europe. Performances in France include l’Abbaye aux Dames , Saintes, Cathedrale St-Pierre, Saintes, Eglise de Bourcefranc, l’Eglise Saint-Pierre of La Tremblade, Chateau d’Usson, Pons, Les Salons du Parc,Fouras,Domaine de Launay,Saumur, la Ferme Auberge de Chanteageasse in Charente Maritime. In the United States, she sang as a guest with the Central Florida Lyric Opera, and has performed in Recitals at colleges and universities in Orlando. She is equally at home in the concert hall as well as a recitalist. Her concerts and recitals have been well received by all who have heard her. Her recordings, “Songes d’Amour” and “Paris parle-moi d’Amour” show the depth of that artistry which she transcends. She has a very lovely, distinct voice which enables her to sing various styles with equal ease and depth of emotion. Truly, she is one of todays most appealing artists.
